The choral department at the University of South Carolina claims that "If you love to sing, there is a choral ensemble for you at UofSC. Our choirs are open to every student at the university, regardless of major. From select, auditioned choirs to once-a-week ensembles, there is an opportunity for you to sing." The organization's focus on outreach made networking with community members a top priority. Our secondary priority was advertising concerts and events for student ensembles.
A big part of the creative process for UofSC's Choral Department Social Media was attending rehearsals and concerts to get behind the scenes footage. Interviewing students, having Instagram 'takeovers' on concert days, and other exclusive-type content was an integral part in building connections with community members and future students looking into UofSC's programs.
Since doing a total facelift of UofSC's Choral Department social media accounts, engagement has been at an all time high and we have received nothing but incredibly positive feedback from both the community and organization itself. This is, to date, one of my most successful projects.
